Five women in one community each receive a female goat.

Your goat is free. You do not have to pay for her. And she belongs to you.

What can you do with your goat?

You can keep, use or sell what your goat produces, such as milk, cheese, butter or yogurt.

And your goat can become the beginning of your own herd.

What do we ask from you?

Take good care of your goat.

Give her food, clean water and a safe shelter, and keep her healthy.

You may not sell or kill your Ubuntu goat.

What happens when your goat has kids?

The female kids belong to you too.

You can keep them.

So your herd can grow.

And the male kids?

The male kids are sold.

With this money, Ubuntu Goats buys female goats for other women.

Those women also receive a goat for free.

So one goat can help another woman begin too.
