4. Ubuntu Community Updates
When you subscribe to Ubuntu Community Updates, we use your name and email address to send occasional news about communities, stories and opportunities connected with Ubuntu Goats.
You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time. You can do this by following the unsubscribe instructions in an email or by using the contact form. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of messages sent before you unsubscribed.
5. Who may receive your information
Your information is only shared where this is reasonably necessary. It may be processed by trusted service providers that help us operate the website, host data or deliver email.
These providers may only use the information for the services they provide to Ubuntu Goats and must protect it appropriately. We may also disclose information where required by law.
6. International data transfers
Some technical service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we seek to use providers and safeguards that comply with applicable data-protection law.
7. How long we keep your information
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected.
- Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or the service ends.
- Messages and applications are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards where continued contact or record-keeping remains relevant.
- Technical logs are retained according to the normal security and retention practices of our hosting provider.
Information may be retained longer where this is necessary to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
8. Cookies and external services
Ubuntu Goats does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
The website may use strictly necessary technical features and may contain links to external websites or services, such as YouTube. When you follow an external link, that provider's own privacy and cookie policies apply.
9. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.
No website or email system can guarantee absolute security. We therefore also limit the information we collect and restrict access to people who need it for the relevant purpose.

11. Automated decisions
Ubuntu Goats does not use personal information collected through this website to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
